ANNOUNCEMENT OF SEARCH

Editor-in-Chief Experimental Biology and Medicine

The Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine (SEBM) is soliciting nominations and applications for the next EIC of the official Society Journal, Experimental Biology and Medicine. The appointment will be for a period of three years beginning July 1, 2006. The EIC provides leadership for the scientific quality of the journal and promotes plans to assure that the journal is broadly representative of contemporary, high quality research in experimental biology and medicine. Details of the responsibilities of the EIC, the journal, and the members of the Search Committee are available on the SEBM website (www.sebm.org).

Applicants should have achieved high visibility as a scholar among biomedical scientists and possess demonstrable organizational skills. The successful applicant will possess a vision and breadth of perspective consistent with overseeing the editorial process and scientific content of a multidisciplinary research journal, as well as a plan to promote the scientific standing of the journal.

Please send a complete CV and a letter of application (maximum of three single-spaced pages) to Felice O’Grady, Executive Director of SEBM, at sebm{at}inch.com by October 10, 2005. The following should be included in the letter.

• A brief description of the applicant’s qualifications.
  
• A statement outlining the general approach that will be taken to editing the journal, including acceptance criteria and editorial policy.
  
• Plans to further enhance the scientific standing of the journal.
